London Marathon 2019 for Against Breast Cancer
David and I (Victoria) are running the London Marathon 2019 for Against Breast Cancer - please give generously to support this cause!
In 2012, at the age of 36 (with a 1 year old baby) I discovered a hard lump in my breast (a 5.4cm tumour) and learnt that I had stage 3 breast cancer that had spread into the lymph nodes. I went through a challenging 7 month period of treatment that included a full mastectomy, reconstruction, chemotherapy and radiotherapy and I feel so blessed to have come out of this the other side, and to be here today with my family. My husband David and I are running the marathon to appreciate the hard work of those awesome charities (specifically Against Breast Cancer) who work tirelessly to carry out research and to support cancer patients both physically and emotionally. I would like to thank and acknowledge everyone who supported me through this period and thank God that I'm here today.
We are running in memory of our dear friend Ram Chander, who left this earth on 21st January after a 2 year valiant battle with this horrible beast. His humble, honourable, faithful presence was a real example to us all and he always put good into every life that he touched. This is for your Christine, Sid and Neal.
